Desy Bachir is a well-seasoned marketer with over 17 years of experience in integrated marketing communications and omni-channel media strategy. Her passion for growth and conquering new heights has taken her career journey to a variety of paths, from building international and local brands, leading media innovation and strategy for Unilever Indonesia, managing presidential election campaigns, spearheading the growth of content and influencer marketing in Indonesia, to becoming the leadership team of one of the fastest growing youth-focused media & entertainment groups in the country.

Desy is currently the Chief Marketing Officer at Samara Media & Entertainment (SME), where she is responsible for the growth and synergy of the group and its companies, subsidiaries, and affiliates. Desy is quick-witted in exploring and executing new innovations and transformation for the businesses she lead, most recently proven by the swift turnaround of Samara Live’s offline event promoter business during pandemic to a completely online model, launching 7 online live streaming festivals in only 5 months, reaching millions of unique users from all across Indonesia.

Desy enjoys sharing her knowledge and point of view on business & self-development related topics, which she often does at local & international conferences, as well as at universities and community events. Moreover, she is a professional Master of Ceremony and moderator, an experienced radio broadcaster, and a podcaster.

As a part of her commitment to grow and develop Indonesia’s creative economy industry, Desy is currently serving in Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as Head of Permanent Committee on Marketing, Media, and Content.

Desy Bachir received her Bachelor degree in Economics from University of Indonesia, and her Master of Commerce from University of Sydney.
